Originally built in December 1941 by General Electric as a 44 ton center cab locomotive. Rebuilt in 1998 for the U.S. Navy and saw very little service. Sold into private ownership for occasional light switching, this unit has never seen a hard days work! Over $220,000 was put into the rebuild and this is one of the nicest center cabs we have seen in a long time. Some of the mechanical details include: New wiring, new main generators, new aux generators, new Gardner/Denver compressors, new GE traction motors, twin CAT 6 cyc 3306 engines, AAR control stand, new seats, GREAT body, 26 brake w/tread shoes, new batteries included, both engines have been serviced every 300 hours, electric cab heaters, block heaters, external LED lighting, excellent wheels, new electrical lockers & relays, speedometer, seller can assist in loading for shipment via truck, electric reversers, roller bearings, hump control, FRA glazing. This unit will be a reliable locomotive for years to come.
