The Apollo was built in 1948 by Pullman as the Botsford Tavern for the C&O Railroad
and is the
table portion of a twin unit diner (see
Savoy for kitchen portion). The car
was completely rebuilt in 1992 for service on the Starlight Dinner
Train operated by BC Rail. Seating 68 passengers in several dining
areas the Apollo would be a stunning addition to any dinner train. The
car would need minimal work to be placed in operation and some of the
mechanical features include: Emergency windows, toilet, 1/2 HEP, 2
serving area w/refers, 8 ton Maneurop air conditioning system, PA
system, eclectic baseboard and over head heat, completely rewired in
1992 utilizing Northwest Rail Electric panels and controls, titelock
couplers, ISH, drop equalizers, tread brakes, D-22 valves, large
windows
