Built in 1950 by the Budd Company as a 10 roomette, 6 double bedroom sleeper for the Union Pacific Railroad, Pacific Waves was the last car built of the 50 car "Pacific" series order. Retired by Union Pacific and sold to Amtrak in the early 1970's. Rebuilt by Amtrak as a part of their Heritage Fleet, retired by Amtrak in the 1990's and sold into private ownership. All the roomettes were removed in preparation of converting the car into a bedroom lounge, the hall and all the double bedrooms are still in place and intact. Some of the mechanical details include: Good body and roof, full Amtrak electrical locker, car has active AEI tag and is registered in UMLER, large room where roomettes were that can be converted into any type of space desired, APEE bearings, 26-C brake valves, B end of car has an ADA accessible door frame, all main windows in car have been converted to emergency windows, electric floor and overhead heat, air conditioning, marker lights, freeze protection, electric hot water, MU, 27 pin, Head End Power, OSSH, H couplers, TFM disc brakes, electric decelostats.
