Florida Sunrise

Built by the Pullman Co. in 1954 for the Florida East Coast Railroad
for service on the train New Dixieland. Originally named the Scott
M. Loftin after one of the former receivers of the railroad, in 1957
the car was reassigned to the trains South Wind & Gulf Wind and was
later sold to Canadian National and then to VIA Rail. The cars
interior configuration consists of 4 roomettes, 5 double bedrooms, 1
compartment and 4 open sections. The car is complete and would make
a great museum display or private car. Some of the mechanical
features include:D-22 brakes w/tread shoes, OSSH, 6.5 x 12 AP roller
bearings, Canadian trucks, stainless over stainless construction
(includes roof). H couplers, 64v DC electrical system, small water
heater, all windows intact, carpet & upholstery in good condition,
all mattress in place, steam heat, D/C air conditioning system, will
interchange to CSX.
NOTE: The Florida Sunrise is a complete car in very original
condition. As far as we know it is the last FEC car of this type
still in it's original configuration. A quick interior dusting and
the car would be ready as a public display.
