Built
in 1948 by the Budd Co for the Santa Fe Railroad as a lunch counter diner.
Rebuilt by Amtrak into a Heritage series lounge and reconfigured by current
owner into a table car. Some of the mechanical details include: Restroom with
holding tanks, freeze protection, floor and over head heat, air conditioning,
full 480v HEP, emergency lights, PA system, marker lights, kitchen area with
microwave, convection oven and coolers, buffet line with a wall of coolers and
storage and steam table, seating for 40+ passengers, APEE bearings, ISSH, tread
brakes with comp shoes, 26-C brake valves, 27 pin, communication line, MR line,
CS couplers, roof mounted flood lights.
