Built by the Pullman Co. for the Illinois Central Railroad as a Railway Post Office/Baggage Car for service on many of IC's famous trains that operated between Chicago & New Orleans. Sold by the IC into private ownership in the 60's. Taken off its trucks and used as a storage shed, etc. The interior of this car is very intact and includes many of the original RPO fixtures, the body and roof are in good condition. This car would make a great interactive display on how the Railway Post Office cars operated. In this day and age it is very rare to find a RPO car with its pigeon holes, sorting tables etc. Please note that this car does not include the trucks.
