Built in 1930 by American Car & Foundry as caboose #1959 for the Santa Fe Railroad. Rebuilt by the railroad in 1968 and renumbered #999264, finally retired by the Santa Fe in 1984 and sold into private ownership, This car is very original and would be a great candidate for restoration. Some of the mechanical information includes: Roller bearings, good body, ABD Brakes w/comp shoes, can move by rail, cushion draft gear, original interior, original DC electrical system, Microphor toilets, oil fired stove, two windows will need to be covered with plywood and a piece of brake linkage will need to be replaced before car can be shipped by rail.
