Wabash Railroad Observation Car #1600 SOLD

Built by American Car & Foundry in 1947 for the Wabash Railroad. Originally built for service on Wabash's service from St. Louis to Kansas City known as the "City of Kansas City". In later years the car was used on the Banner Blue service between Chicago & St. Louis. Sold in 1970 into private ownership and has since been converted into a luxurious lounge observation car paneled in Birch and upholstered in real leather. Some of the car's mechanical details include: All new glazing and gaskets, good body, new sub floor through out car, H couplers, ISSH, 5.5 x 10grease bearings, tread brakes with cast shoes, air conditioning, overhead heat, good body, holding tanks, truck mounted cylinders, D-22 valves, 2 restrooms, 1/2 HEP, upgraded electrical system, new custom interior with real leather seats (some seat show the cattle brand), new custom shades, PA system, all original light fixtures and hardware, seating for approx 46 passengers, custom interior wood treatment on walls, Corian window sills, stunning custom built circular bar where original day drawing room was located.
